Historical Background
The Hillman Hunter achieved international fame after winning the gruelling 1968 London to Sydney Marathon, a 10,000-mile endurance rally that crossed Europe, Asia and Australia. Against fierce competition, the family saloon claimed an unexpected overall victory, proving its durability and reliability. To celebrate the achievement, Corgi released model 302 in 1969, complete with rally decals, Golden Jacks wheels and a miniature kangaroo in honour of the event's Australian finish. Production continued until 1972, with just over 150,000 examples manufactured, making it one of the most iconic rally-themed Corgi models.
