The Mack Superliner achieved good commercial success even outside the United States. Among its main markets was Australia, where private owners and specialised body shops created unique examples strongly characterised from an aesthetic point of view. The Black Thunder retains the original mechanical base, to which significant tuning modifications have been added. The name strongly evokes the aggressive and spectacular glossy black livery, as well as the sound of the engine and exhaust system modified from the standard version. Customised trucks such as the Black Thunder are often built for events and gatherings that celebrate personalisation and aesthetic research, highlighting vehicles that are not only everyday working tools but true works of art on wheels.
